Nerd Wednesday #1
Brainy had just returned from a giant intergalactic science symposium and was, in a rare show of excitement, was telling Clark all about it.
Though Clark was having a hard time understanding anything Brainy was saying he couldn't help but smile at how widely Brainy was grinning. The Coluan's enthusiasm for everything that had gone on the last few days was shown in every hand gesture, practically with every word that escaped that bright smile.
It was really quite cute, Clark thought as he gently kissed that bright smile. At Brainy's blush, Clark wondered is Brainy would get so cutely excited again if he took the Coluan to a Comic Convention.

The comic shop was silent after the chime of a bell and Brain wondered if the ever elusive female had wondered in, either on purpose or mistake, but when conversation started again he concluded that wasn't the case and looked up to inspect the newcomer.
As theorized it was another boy, tall dark haired, looked like he would be athletic if not for the glasses framing his almost inhuman eyes. Then again on Earth nowadays even the most human looking people could be aliens, not that anyone would ever suspect Brainy, with his green skin, of being human.
Not bothering to inspect further, Brainy returned his gaze to the new arrivals comic book shelf. It looked like he was just in time to get the last Mr. Legend.
Just as he was about to grab it another hand made to do the same. Brainy looked up and saw the newcomer whom he had just dismissed; he hadn't even heard the other boy approach.
"A fan of Mr. Legend as well?" the newcomer smiled in a way that could only be described as charming, hand still on the comic book.
"Indeed," Brainy felt oddly hot at that moment but he wasn't quite sure why.
"Since there's only one left is there any chance I can flip you for it?" the newcomer questioned.
"There chances of that are 50/50 and I was here first," Brainy shook his head trying to also shake out the voice in the back of his head to surrender the comic in favor of getting another one of those charming smiles.
The newcomer thought it over a moment and then graced Brainy with the smile that made Brainy's temperature rise.
"How about you let me buy the comic and I'll buy you dinner?"
That sounded like he was being asked out on a date, Brainy thought but found himself saying, "That sounds acceptable."
"Great," the newcomer grinned, taking the comic Brainy yielded and directed them both towards the cashier. "My name is Clark by the way."
"I'm Querl but most people call me Brainy," Brainy responded automatically.
"I know," Clark smiled, "Why do you think I came to this shop?"
For a moment Brainy was silent, "Are you some sort of stalker?"
"Define stalker," Clark blushed and Brainy laughed thinking this would certainly be an interesting dinner.
